A lunar eclipse

In late 2022 there occurred a lunar eclipse where the shadow of the earth passed over the moon creating this effect. Seen here are different phases of the eclipse. The reddish color is the light passing through our atmosphere, casting that color. It is the same reason the sunsets are that color.
